Eye improvements

As you grow older the skin around your eyes can stretch and lose muscle tone, leading to comments such as "I look tired", "I look miserable", or "My eyelids are too heavy." These complaints may be caused by drooping eyelid skin and bags under the eyes, which can be corrected with a procedure that removes redundant skin as well as other tissue. Surgery is either carried out as a day case or as an overnight stay. Upper eyelid treatment can be carried out under local anaesthetic and lower eyelid treatment usually requires a general anaesthetic. Bruising and swelling around the eyes is not uncommon and you may wish to take a couple of weeks off work.
