Breast uplift

Mastopexy

Breasts, whether it be through age or after pregnancy, tend to become less firm and more droopy (ptotic). In women with larger breasts, gravity and ageing can also lead to the development of droop.

Mastopexy is essentially a skin-tightening procedure which can return the breast to a more youthful, firmer shape and a more attractive position on the chest. Sometimes the operation can be combined with implants if a volume enhancement is required. In both cases the nipple is repositioned as part of the surgery. The operation is carried out under a general anaesthetic and usually requires a one- or two-night stay in hospital. You will need to wear a supportive sports bra for at least six weeks after the operation.
