Laser treatment

Laser treatment is effective for:

  • Facial lines and wrinkles
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Acne and acne scarring
  • Moles and warts
  • Traumatic scars
  • Congenital birthmarks
  • Hair removal
  • Thread vein removal

Using lasers for the treatment of skin conditions can have many advantages. This non-surgical treatment is precise and is usually performed without anaesthetic. The healing process is excellent and treatment is carried out as a day case.

Skin resurfacing - CO2 laser treatment is effective for:

We are all born with smooth, baby-soft skin. As we go through life, our skin is subjected to numerous experiences that leaves it less than perfect. For many of us, our first exposure to skin problems is chickenpox in childhood and, possibly, acne scars in our teens.

For those of us lucky enough to escape these hazards, time and gravity are still doing their part to create lines and wrinkles on the brow, around the eyes and mouth, and the chin and cheek areas.

Over-exposure to the sun, alcohol consumption and smoking are also known contributing factors that significantly accelerate the development of these natural signs of ageing. Surface imperfections such as moles, warts and superficial skin cancers, as well as sun-damaged areas, may well also develop over time and mark the skin.

Although dermabrasion and chemical/alpha hydroxy peels offer some benefits towards achieving smoother, fresher, younger- looking skin, relatively disappointing cosmetic results have still prevented many patients from having the quality of life they desire.

Laser skin resurfacing

Over recent years, techniques have been developed to remove surface imperfections and dramatically reduce lines and wrinkles with the procedure called laser skin resurfacing.

Using the ULTRAPULSE 5000C Aesthetic Laser, we can gently resurface sun-damaged, ageing skin, helping to promote and stimulate the regeneration of the deeper, firmer, healthier skin.

Totally unlike dermabrasion and chemical peels, the ULTRAPULSE laser uses a high-energy beam of light to gently reduce scars, lines, wrinkles and other skin defects. Laser light penetrates to a precise, controlled depth, making the procedure safe and predictable. Unwanted effects are rare and generally of minor significance but are fully discussed at consultation. Laser skin resurfacing is performed on an outpatient basis at the clinic without the need for general anaesthetic, making the procedure convenient and affordable.

By comparison with past methods of resurfacing, the laser is gentler and more comfortable, both during and after the procedure, which helps give a rapid return to your normal routine.

Hair removal - ellipse laser system

Put an end to the slow, messy and painful methods of hair removal. Shaving, waxing, tweezing, depilation and smelly hair- removal creams have been replaced by hair removal in a flash. The Ellipse system uses safe, visible light emitted from a flashlamp to remove unwanted hair from all body sites in minutes.

Restylane

If you would like to get rid of wrinkles and folds, or if you want to improve the image of your lips, there is a new answer to your needs.

Restylane is an innovation based on non-animal hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid is present in all living organisms. In your skin it creates volume, resulting in a healthy and vital appearance. Restylane contains hyaluronic acid in the form of a clear gel gently injected into the skin to lift the lip wrinkle or fold. Restylane works together with the body's own hyaluronic acid and joins forces to create volume. Because Restylane is not an animal product it is perfectly safe to use instantly, without pre-testing.

Thread veins - Microsclerotherapy

Microsclerotherapy is an established technique in the permanent removal of thread veins. It is safe and convenient and is generally regarded as an excellent treatment.

A tiny needle is needed to flush the thread vein with a special sclerotherapy solution, which causes the vein to fully fade. Most people report that the treatment is relatively painless and comfortable.

On the first day after treatment the skin around the vein is a little pink and blotchy. After about 2 or 3 days the vein begins to fade. Most thread veins can be treated in about 30 minutes. Occasionally people with more sensitive skin see more pinkness or reaction around the vein.

No recovery time is required and people can resume their normal activities immediately.
